The RIX Group have been busy undertaking specialist contract works at the Western Sydney Airport project on behalf of their Client, CPBG.

Our piling works at Sydney Metro’s Airport Business Park Station and Airport Terminal Station consisted of 8,752 lin.m of 900mm diameter bored piles.

Our steelfixing, shotcreting and anchoring scope included:

  • Airport Business Park: 147 Anchors and 2,100m² Shotcrete;
  • Airport Terminal: 912 Anchors and 11,730m² Shotcrete;
  • Aerotropolis: 468 Anchors;
  • St Marys: 16,000m² Shotcrete.

We are now close to completion of our scope as the station boxes will soon be at the excavation level required in readiness of the arrival of the TBMs! The RIX Group are proud to be part of this project and to have the expertise and experience within our crews, along with our state-of-the-art plant and equipment, that gives us the capability to deliver such large volumes of work efficiently, to the highest quality and to tight program durations.

Approximately 31,300 metres of anchors were supplied and installed, and 30,000m² of shotcrete has been applied to the vertical station box walls.

The RIX Group would like to thank CPBG for the opportunity to be involved in this iconic Australian project and look forward to working with them again in the future.
