SOIL NAIL INSTALLATION

RIX have many years experience stabilising weak soil layers on freshly cut or pre-existing excavation by installing soil nails.

Drilling of holes for soil nails.   Installation of soil nails prior to grouting.

Soil nails are typically rigid bars or strand cable, encased in plastic sheath. The soil nails are installed into a predrilled hole which penetrates the loose layer and into stable ground beneath. The bolts are typically secured into the stable ground beneath the fault using a cement grout.
