Simulated Rock Road/Rail Cuttings

RIX offers dry spray shotcrete to cover existing structural shotcrete in the creation of decorative landscapes. Due to dry spray’s capability to be coloured, shaped, contoured and carved, the possibilities and creations are endless. Simulated or artificial rock can be incorporated into road and rail cuttings to resemble natural rock features.

Centre: Our completed soil nail retaining wall is finished with simulated rock, showing one of our many architectural finishes at the Geelong Ring Road near Melbourne. The road was completed and opened in December 2011. The motorway now provides a 26km motorway link, which greatly diminishes travel time for commuters by bypassing more than 30 sets of traffic lights and other congestion. Emphasis was placed on architectural finishes in and around the new motorway, setting a new benchmark for visual forethought within road corridor environments.
