Rope Access Maintenance
RIX can provide experienced IRATA Rope Access tradesman for all types of plant shutdowns including riggers, welders, fitters, painters, blasters and non destructive testing trades. A typical shutdown could include the inspection and repair of welds, Change-out or replacement of plant parts, painting, cleaning etc. to a plant asset where extensive requirements for access by scaffolding currently exist. Rix can provide shutdown services for bins, tanks, silos, stacks, car dumpers etc. as well as pipelines and other structures.
A major advantage of using Rope Access during shutdowns is that immediate access can be gained to the asset allowing for an immediate start to the works and a quick exit at completion, so reducing the time taking to complete. Rix have extensive experience in delivering shutdowns and are able to provide shutdown services to the resource sector including but not limited to iron ore, alumina, coal and gold etc.
Our rope access maintenance teams can complete full non-destructive testing services inclusive of ultrasonic, mag particle, visual inspection and many other NDT methods. Following the completion and submission of the NDT reports any repairs detected can be repaired by our qualified rope access coded welders. RIX can also provide IRATA Rope Access – riggers, fitters, blasting and coatings services for all other site maintenance works required. All Rix tradesman are certified in their respective trades.
Due to the reduction in program by using Rope Access techniques significant cost savings can be achieved when comparing against traditional access techniques such as scaffolding, which require longer mobilisation and demobilisation time.
RIX’s experienced Rope Access personnel are able to quickly access conveyor systems which enable the inspection of the structures condition for integrity reporting purposes. From the Integrity reports submitted to the client a maintenance schedule can be created and the required remediation tasks, such as blasting, painting and steel structure repairs, can be undertaken by RIX.
On completion of the remediation works NATA NDT methods as well as qualified coating inspectors can be employed to verify the quality of the works.
Silos, Tanks & Bins
RIX experienced Rope Access tradesmen can easily and quickly access silos, sanks & bins during outages and are able to carry out work activities such as MPI inspections, thickness testing of wear liners and walls, visual inspection of the structure and other inspection methods as deemed necessary by the client.
RIX maintenance teams are able to complete any repairs identified during the inspection period including wear liner change outs and/or weld repairs to walls and structure.
Jetty Inspection & Repair
Access to the underside of jetties will be achieved by utilising our Rope Access tradesmen and tension netting which together creates significant time savings and safety improvements on previous methods of access. Rix tradesmen are able to complete all work activities from the tension netting including but not limited to inspections, blasting, coatings, steel and concrete repairs as well as anode replacement.
